An Invitation from the Artistic Director
Welcome to the Edmonton Recital Society’s 2018-2019 concert series! This season, we are presenting an icon of the Canadian music scene, harpist Judy Loman. We are showcasing Jacques Forestier, one of the most gifted young violinists to emerge in recent years. You’ll find concerts by a wide range of internationally trained artists from here and from afar, with Edmonton connections of all sorts! The Prochazka Tribute Recital will feature international award-winning Prochazka alumnus, cellist David Eggert.
Our Music Among Friends concerts highlight rarely heard masterpieces. The November 11th In Remembrance concert features the haunting Shostakovich Piano Trio No. 2, written during the Second World War. In January, we hear Schubert’s unforgettable song cycle, Die Winterreise.
